Themes
Ecommerce themes, tried on your own shop first
WhizzyCommerce ecommerce themes are whole looks for a shop, installed in one press, and every paid one can be tried on your own shop as a draft before you pay. Shoppers keep seeing your current design until you decide.
A catalogue of online store templates
Each theme in the catalogue brings a header, footer, product page, category page with filters, home page and the rest, designed to work together. Some are free and the rest have a one-off price, shown on the theme's page next to a live demo shop you can click around.
You pay once and the licence is yours, not the shop's. If you bought a theme while building a demo shop and that demo is swept away, the licence comes back to you for your next shop.
Try it as a draft, then publish
Because trying costs nothing and changes nothing the public sees, theme sales are final: there is no refund on a theme once it is bought.
- 1
Press Try
The theme is staged as your shop's draft, with your own products, categories and pages in it. Your live theme does not move and shoppers see nothing new.
- 2
Live with it
Open the draft in your browser, move sections, change colours and words, look at it on your phone. A theme you are trying behaves exactly like one you own.
- 3
Buy it, or not
Buying keeps the draft exactly as you left it. If you decide against it, your live shop was never touched.
- 4
Publish
Publish puts the theme live, together with the page drafts you made on it.
Edit it yourself, down to the CSS
Every page is built from sections you can add, move, hide and fill in the editor, with the theme's colours and fonts as settings rather than code. When a setting is not enough, write a section's CSS by hand in the editor. That is on every plan, Free included.
Or ask Claude to do it
The designer in your dashboard is Claude working on your theme. Ask for a new section, a different header, a calmer colour scheme or a page laid out like a site you admire: paste its address and it can read that page, and only pages you typed in yourself. It writes the section and its stylesheet into your draft, and you see it before anything goes live. More on how the assistant works is on the AI ecommerce platform page.
Built by us and by independent developers
Outside developers build themes for the catalogue through the theme developer programme: a browser editor, the whizzy-theme command line tool for any code editor, or Claude through the developer connector, all working on the same files. Each release passes automatic checks and a review by a person before merchants can install it.
A developer keeps 70% of each sale's price before tax, and founding developers keep 80% in their first year. A theme can also ask for a plugin, such as the blog, and installing the theme installs it.
Questions
Can I try a paid theme without paying?
Yes. Trying puts it on your shop as a draft that only you see, with your own products. You pay only if you want to publish it.
Will my customers see a theme I am trying?
No. Your live theme stays as it is until you buy and publish. The draft is shown only to a browser that has opened it from your dashboard.
Can I get a refund on a theme?
No, theme sales are final, which is why every paid theme can be tried on your own shop first. The licence stays yours if you close a shop and open another.
Can I change the code of a theme?
You can write a section's CSS by hand in the editor on every plan, and Claude can write new sections for you. Building a full theme from files is what the developer tools are for.
Are there free themes?
Yes, the catalogue has free themes beside the paid ones, and the price of each is on its page.
